Our Story
Wish Ambulance Scotland, a sister organisation of 'Stichting Ambulance Wens' based in The Netherlands, is an unincorporated organisation which plans to apply for charitable status in the near future. Founded in 2007 by the late Kees Veldboer Snr., Stichting Ambulance Wens is a charity which supports those approaching the end of life to undertake a 'Wish Journey' of personal significance. Our Aim
Wish Ambulance Scotland aims to support those approaching the end of life by providing medically assisted transportation to undertake a 'Wish Journey' of personal significance. Our ambulance (which we will start fundraising for shortly), manned by volunteers, will collect wish recipients from their place of care and support them through their 'Wish Journey'. Once their wish has been granted, the volunteers will return the person to their place of collection. Aside from granting wishes, Wish Ambulance Scotland aims to promote discussions of death and dying through community engagement and fundraising events.
